The pieces on the next page are made of aluminum, etched in several layers and sealed with acrylic inks. I developed this technique for my MFA thesis in an attempt to diminish the boundry between delicacy and durability. By slowly dissolving the metal ( 6 -8 week process) in a deliberate pattern a visual impression of fragility emerges that is solidly rooted in the shape and strength of the metal. Each piece is one of a kind although "similarities" can be made in a variety of sizes.
The second page is a new line of sterling silver jewelry. These are textured through a rolling mill and formed into shape.
On the third page are some wall sculptures I refer to them as "Moments" in reference to the Baroque ideal of capturing "a moment in time" I like to think of them as caught in the act of floating through space.
